Zen in der Kunst des Velofahrens - Zen in the art of cycling

 

Meine lieben Freunde!

Ein Kindheitstraum wird wahr für mich: Wie ihr vielleicht (hoffentlich) schon mitbekommen habt, werde ich Ende April in Kloten das Flugzeug nach Tokyo besteigen! Sieben Wochen stehen mir danach zur Verfügung, Japans Landschaft und Kultur aufzusaugen. Mit mir kommt mein treuer Begleiter: Mein Velo!

Richtig gelesen: Ich nehme mein uraltes Velo mit nach Japan und fahre einmal durch Japan. Von ganz im Norden, der Insel Hokkaido geht es soweit wie möglich ans andere Ende von Honshu, der Hauptinsel von Japan. Wo ich in dieser über 1500 km langer Strecke überall vorbei komme, wo ich übernachten werde, und ob mein Velo am Schluss noch ganz ist, weiss ich noch nicht - das ist Teil des Abenteuers.

Neben dem Zelt, Schlafsack und Veloflickzeug darf auch Papier und Stift nicht in meinem Gepäck fehlen! Ich bin schon ganz gespannt, ob ich ab all den zeichnungswürdigen Szenerien überhaupt vorwärts komme und bin noch die Stift- und Papierauswahl am optimieren. Neben einem Skizzenbuch werde ich aber auch ein extra Stapel Papier mitnehmen, für jeden Tag eines.

Und hier kommt ihr ins Spiel: Ihr könnt euch eine solche Tageszeichnung bestellen! Und so ganz nebenbei finanziert ihr mir eine Portion Ramen oder ein Schälchen Sake. Wie funktioniert das Ganze? Ihr könnt euch in diesem Dokument (hier klicken) die freien Tage ansehen, mir eine Email mit gewünschtem Datum, Name und Adresse senden (ich könnt auf dieses Email antworten!) und überweist mir nach meiner Bestätigung 50.- CHF auf mein Konto. Dann könnt ihr euch zurücklehnen und warten - am von euch gewünschten Tag werde ich eine Zeichnung für euch machen und bei der nächsten Gelegenheit zur Post bringen und sie euch zusenden!

My dearest Friends!

A childhood dream comes true: As you (hopefully) may have noticed, I will board the plane to Tokyo at the end of April! For seven weeks I will be able to absorb Japan's landscape and culture. Together with me travels my faithful companion: My bike!

You read correctly: I take my age-old bike to Japan and drive it through whole Japan. From the very north, the island of Hokkaido, as far as possible to the other end of Honshu, the main island of Japan. I do not know where I'm going to spend the nights and what I will see in this more than 1500 km long track, and whether my bike will be still complete at the end - that's part of the adventure.

In addition to the tent, sleeping bag and biketools I wont forget to take paper and pen with me! I am quite curious whether I actually will be able to cycle, from all the scenes worth drawing, and I still optimize the pen and paper selection. One thing for sure though, in addition to a sketchbook, I will also take an extra stack of paper, one for each day.

And thats where you come into play: You can order such a daily drawing! And by the way, you buy me a portion of ramen or a bowl of sake. How does it work? You can check the avaible dates in this document (click here), write me an email with the desired date, your name and address (you can just answer to this email) and after I confirm, transfer me 50.- CHF/45.- € to my account. Then you can sit back and wait - on your desired day I will make a drawing for you and at the next opportunity bring it to the post office and send it to you!

  • The whole thing works on trust: When you sign up for a drawing, I trust that you will pay me the 50.- CHF /45 € as well as you trust me that I will send you a drawing. It's as simple as it gets!
  • First come, first serve: When a date is taken, it's taken. There are no two drawings a day.
